About the event
On June 12, 2025, the dynamic duo Nwana – Afro Music of Children will take the stage in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil, as part of the global Music Against Child Labour initiative.
Formed by Luana Paula (percussionist and vocalist) and Leusio Gil (pianist, singer, and dancer), Nwana—meaning “child” in Changana, a language spoken in Mozambique—crafts vibrant, participatory performances that merge African and Brazilian rhythms with traditional games, storytelling, and movement.
Through their music, Nwana promotes the values of musical education, cultural diversity, and intergenerational connection. Their shows create an engaging space where children and adults alike become active participants—dancing, singing, and exploring the transformative power of music.
By dedicating this performance to Music Against Child Labour, Nwana reinforces their mission of using art to inspire reflection, advocate for children’s rights, and celebrate the joy and creativity of childhood.
